Отрывок из сочинений моего дорогого зятя, Рава Михаэля Боденхаймера зц’л (благословенной памяти).
Есть известная история, рассказанная Рав Шимоном Швабом (благословенной памяти) о его встрече с великим Хофец Хаим. Хофец Хаим, который был Кохеином (священного происхождения), спросил Рава Шваба, был ли он Кохеном или Леви (из колена Леви), на что Рав Шваб ответил, что он не был ни тем, ни другим. Хофец Хаим рассказал ему, почему он и его предки были Кохенами и были выбраны для служения в Бэйс ХаМикдош (храме) и почему Рав Шваб и его предки не были выбраны. «Моше обратился к народу с призывом: «Все, кто за ХаШем, придите ко мне», – ответил мой дед, а не Ваш. Ответ на призыв Моше Рабейну к действию разделил тех, кто должен был служить в Бэйс ХаМикдаш и тех, кто не хотел служить.»

CHANNELS OF LIFE
In this week’s Parsha there is an important principle found in Ohr Hachaim Haka-dosh’s commentary. HaShem instructs Moshe “And you, you shall bring close to you, your brother Aharon and his sons to serve Me as Kohanim…” How are we to understand the redundancy of the word ‘you’. Furthermore, it would have been more simply stated if it would say “And you shall bring your brother Aharon and his sons closer to the Kehuna…” What is the implication of “bring close to you”?

A MODERN DAY MEGILLA STORY
This Purim, before reading the Megillah we will recite the bracha that reflects how HaShem did miracles for us in the days of old in this period of the year. The implication is that even today, thousands of years after the miracle of Purim, in this period of year, HaShem continues to perform miracles to protect us and save us from the evil design of our enemies.

TOTALLY RELEVANT
In this week’s Parsha, Tetzave, HaShem instructs His people to create the necessary garments for the kohanim as well as the special inaugurating offerings to be offered at the Mishkan’s inauguration. Last week’s Parsha, this week’s Parsha as well as two more Parshios that we will read in two and three weeks have apparently no relevance to any-one else other than our ancestors living in the desert 3,300 years ago.
